Current Mission
Summer Mission 2022 Heritage Baptist Church, Opelika, Alabama
Mission summary
February 23 through 25 2023 the Cherokee Baptist Association Carpenters for Christ successfully completed the interior walls and partitions for Cross Community Church at 34 County Road 329 in Corinth Mississippi. The mission included interior walls and ceiling structure for the 25' by 50' metal building on a concrete slab that had been dried-in earlier. Although a small structure, the construction included 5 interior rooms with a stair case leading to a second story area that required flooring and railings. The worship area required a vaulted ceiling of 2 by 10 boards mounted at a 60 degree angle and attached to the metal framework. Work began at 8 AM on Thursday with 45 volunteers from six states on site. The mission was completed at noon on Saturday February 25th. (see photos gallery page.)
Support for the mission came from Tate Baptist Church in Corinth that provided facilities for sleeping, showering, and cooking in their family life center. A special thank you is extended to Tate Baptist Church pastor and fellowship for a delicious meal on Wednesday night and the use of their facilities which were only six miles from the job site.
