Message from Pastor Jimmy Kiker
Good Morning John and the Carpenters for Christ CBA.,
As we near Thanksgiving, I wanted to take a moment to let you know again how much we appreciate the group and all that was done here for the Kingdom of God. The roof was shingled last week and soon we will be looking to continue with the work. The sacrifices made by the 37 volunteers can never be adequately measured in this life, but I am sure that our Father will not forget the faithful labor of love carried out here. Please forward this to the group members and accept our heartfelt thanks and best wishes for a wonderful Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Till His house is full, Pastor Jimmy Kiker

The Cherokee Baptist Association Carpenters for Christ had no mission for our regular week in June of 2021. A mission became available in September at Unity Baptist Fellowship Church in Sophia, North Carolina and was scheduled for Thursday November 11 through Saturday November 13 2021. The mission was to dry in a 40' by 60' multipurpose frame building on block foundation to include a floor system with 14' walls, scissors trusses, and a 10/12 shingle roof.
Thirty-seven volunteers from 7 states (TX, GA, MT, AL, TN, IN, KY) arrived late on Wednesday evening and work began at 7 AM on November 11. Some volunteers stayed in the existing church building, others stayed at Caraway Baptist Conference Center nearby while others stayed in campers and motor homes. Shower facilities on site were provided by North Carolina Baptist Emergency services shower trailer. Excellent meals were provided by our kitchen crew and served in the church fellowship hall. Nightly devotions were conducted in the church sanctuary. The Lord blessed us with new volunteers from Texas, and Alabama and excellent weather conditions. The project was completed to the point requested by the church and will be completed to provide activities for recreation and fellowship.
Special Thank You to all who traveled an estimated 15,000 combined miles to serve the Lord in this mission. A Special
Thank You to Unity Baptist Fellowship church for their excellent hospitality and Caraway Baptist Conference Center for use of their facilities. We are most thankful to the Lord whom we serve for the safety while we worked and traveled and the weather He provided for the mission. All are answers to prayer.
